Our History Timeline

1953

Our Roots

Members of the Vetter family purchased the farm which was to become The Grain Place, and Donald Vetter began to employ organic principles.

1975

David Vetter Returns

After 15 years with a tenant farmer, David Vetter (Donald's son) to the farm and becomes one of the earliest farms to be certified organic.

1987

The Grain Place Foods

In 1987 Donald and David incorporated Grain Place Foods as a separate business to process and market organic grains. it was

2016

Grain Place Foundation

Following the death of Donald Vetter, Grain Place Foundation was established as a private operating educational and scientific foundation, and gained IRS 501(c)3 status.
